Methodology
KYD indices for both A and B type funds are calculated using market cap weighted
method. ·
Selection of Index Constituents
KYD Fund index constituents represent those funds that have the largest market capitalization
and the largest number of fund shares. In order to select constituent funds for
each type of index ( A and B Type Fund indices ), the first step is to rank all
funds in two different tables according to their total market capitalizations and
then also according to their total number of 'fund shares held'. Afterwards, funds'
final ranking values are determined by adding up these two different rankings coming
from both tables (Market cap and number of shares). Then only the top (first) 50
funds are selected as constituents for their respective indices ( A Type Fund Index
or B Type Fund Index ). In cases where the final ranking values are equal between
two funds, the fund with the largest market capitalization is selected as a constituent.
Rebalancing of Index Constituents ( Funds )
Quarterly structural adjustments are made on KYD Fund Indices in order to reflect
current market conditions accurately. These rebalancings are made in the months
of January, April, July and October. In order to see recent rebalancing changes
and index constituents in different quarters please click here...
